In the current ecomonic times, many collectors buy paintings with the aim of securing better long term returns on their capital investment than they would achieve with a bank, building society, shares or bond investment.

If buying a painting as an investment remember:

Always buy a painting you love. Enjoy it!

Hang your painting with care, avoid very bright sunlight (sun rooms and conservatories are harsh environments).

Avoid hanging oil paintings in steamy or damp locations such as kitchens or bathrooms.

Take care when hanging your oil painting above a radiator or fire (a mantle shelf can help deflect much of the heat).
